1. About AD IPSUM

AD IPSUM is an Illinois nonprofit public benefit corporation and IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity focused on faith-based AI literacy, responsible technology education, practical resources, and future workshops for faith communities, nonprofits, churches, families, and related audiences.

Unless and until AD IPSUM publicly states otherwise, references to future programs, workshops, partnerships, grants, nonprofit status, or resources should be understood as plans or goals in development, not as guaranteed offerings.

2. Use of the Website and Services

You may use this website and its services only for lawful, respectful, and appropriate purposes. You agree not to misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, abuse automated systems, submit malicious code, or use the services in a way that could harm AD IPSUM, its users, its service providers, or any third party.

3. Theology AI

Theology AI is an AI-assisted educational and informational tool made available through the AD IPSUM website. Theology AI may provide responses related to theology, faith, technology, education, culture, and related subjects.

Theology AI is free to use with a free account. It is currently offered without subscription fees or usage rate limits as a service of AD IPSUM, supported by voluntary donations (see Section 7). AD IPSUM may adjust, limit, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary to operate the service responsibly.

AI-generated responses may be incomplete, outdated, imprecise, or incorrect. You are responsible for evaluating any output before relying on it. Theology AI is not a substitute for competent human judgment, pastoral guidance, professional advice, or official Church authority.

For matters involving doctrine, sacramental life, moral counsel, pastoral care, spiritual direction, or Church discipline, users should consult appropriate Catholic authorities, clergy, qualified teachers, or official Church sources.

4. Accounts, Conversation History, and Voice Features

Theology AI uses Firebase Authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for activity performed through your account. Do not share passwords or access credentials.

Persistent text conversation history is stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your authenticated user ID so that conversations can be restored after browser-data clearing and on other devices where you sign in. A user-scoped browser cache may also be used for performance. You may delete individual conversations, export your conversation data, or use the Account panel to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy.

Theology AI also offers optional voice dictation. When you activate it, a short audio recording is sent to an AD IPSUM transcription endpoint and then to a transcription provider for conversion to text. If you do not use the microphone, no audio is recorded by that feature. Do not speak sensitive personal information.

5. No Professional Advice

Content on this website, including content generated by Theology AI, is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not legal, financial, medical, mental health, tax, professional, or emergency advice.

You should consult qualified professionals for advice specific to your situation. Do not use this website or Theology AI as a substitute for professional care, professional judgment, emergency services, or legally binding advice.

6. User Submissions and Uploaded Content

If the website allows you to submit messages, questions, documents, files, or other content, you are responsible for what you submit. Do not submit content that you do not have the right to provide. Do not submit unlawful, harmful, defamatory, abusive, exploitative, infringing, confidential, or highly sensitive information.

You should not submit passwords, private keys, financial account information, government identification numbers, protected health information, private sacramental or pastoral records, or other sensitive personal information unless AD IPSUM has expressly provided a secure and appropriate method for doing so.

By submitting content, you grant AD IPSUM the limited right to process that content as needed to operate, maintain, secure, improve, and provide Theology AI. Raw uploaded document and image bytes are not written to your persistent Firestore conversation history or to the administrative quality-control transcript. A session-scoped textual digest may be temporarily retained to support follow-up questions during the same browser session, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

7. Donations

Theology AI is free to use and is supported by voluntary donations. Donations are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider, on Stripe's own secure pages. Any payment information you enter is handled by Stripe under its own terms and privacy practices; AD IPSUM does not collect or store your full payment card information.

Donations are voluntary and are not required to access or use Theology AI. Recurring donations continue until you cancel them. You can manage or cancel a recurring donation through the management options provided at checkout or by contacting us at info@adipsum.org.

AD IPSUM is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 39-3468721). Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. AD IPSUM does not provide tax advice; please consult a qualified tax professional regarding your particular situation.

8. Newsletter and Email Communications

If you sign up for AD IPSUM updates, we may use your email address to send launch updates, workshop announcements, educational resources, organizational updates, and related communications. We may use third-party email service providers to send and manage these communications.

You may unsubscribe from non-essential email communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in our emails or by contacting us at info@adipsum.org.

We do not sell your email address. Additional information about how we handle personal information is available in our Privacy Policy.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the website or services to:

• violate any law, regulation, or third-party right;
• harass, threaten, exploit, or abuse others;
• upload malware, harmful code, or deceptive content;
• attempt to bypass security, access controls, rate limits, or technical protections;
• scrape, harvest, or collect user information without authorization;
• misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or purpose;
• submit content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights;
• use Theology AI or any AD IPSUM system to generate or facilitate unlawful, harmful, or abusive activity.

10. Intellectual Property

The AD IPSUM name, website design, text, graphics, branding, logos, resources, and other materials are owned by AD IPSUM or its licensors unless otherwise stated. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from AD IPSUM materials without permission, except as allowed by applicable law.

You retain any rights you have in content you submit. However, you grant AD IPSUM the limited rights needed to process and display that content for the operation of the website and services.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

AD IPSUM may rely on third-party providers for hosting, security, analytics, email delivery, AI services, payment processing, infrastructure, and related operations. Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy practices.

The website may contain links to third-party websites or resources. AD IPSUM is not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, policies, or practices of third-party websites.

12. Privacy

Your use of the website and services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it carefully. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy regarding personal information, the Privacy Policy will govern how personal information is handled.

13. Availability and Changes

AD IPSUM may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website, Theology AI, newsletter, resources, or related services at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

14. No Warranty

The website, Theology AI, newsletter, resources, and related services are provided “as is” and “as available.” AD IPSUM makes no warranty that the services will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AD IPSUM and its officers, directors, volunteers, contributors, contractors, service providers, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from your use of or inability to use the website or services.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AD IPSUM and its officers, directors, volunteers, contributors, contractors, service providers, and affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the website or services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

17. Termination

AD IPSUM may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the website or services if we believe you have violated these Terms, misused the services, created risk for AD IPSUM or others, or acted unlawfully. You may also delete your own Theology AI account through the Account panel. Account deletion removes the Firebase account and persistent Firestore conversation history, subject to the limited transient-retention disclosures in the Privacy Policy.

18. Governing Law

Unless applicable law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If AD IPSUM is later formally organized in another jurisdiction, this section may be updated.
